Escondido Indivisible is a grassroots group of neighbors, friends, and residents dedicated to affecting changes in our local community. April 1, 2017: EscInd Group Activity: Save the day for San Diego's Easter Eggstravaganza at Felicita Park.
Mindful that we want to have fun and grow our bonds of community, members of Escondido Indivisible and their families are invited to get together on April 1 at Felicita Park for the County’s EGGstravaganza. This event will be a nice time in a beautiful Escondido Park. There will be an egg hunt and LOTS of activities for little ones but us big kids can hang out, schmooze and maybe play some horseshoes!

We are also looking into other Happy Huddles including: Trivia Contest at Orfila Winery, hike in the San Pasqual valley, and a trip to a local restaurant. If YOU have an idea for a Happy Huddle, let the planning team know!

Monday

Follow-up with Senator Anderson and explain why you’re in favor of SB-54 (California Values Act), which limits local resources to federal immigrant enforcement unless there is a judicial warrant. After his town hall and op-ed, he will not vote in favor of SB-54, but we still want to let him know how ICE deportations have negatively impacted us and our community. Contact Senator Feinstein and explain why you’re opposed to Neil Gorsuch for SCOTUS. Gorsuch’s nomination hearing is scheduled starting today. As ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Feinstein will preside over the hearing, and she has already noted that the documents that Gorsuch have provided are incomplete. Contact the House Ethics Committee about their public meeting that was scheduled for today and ask what decision has they reached regarding the release of the Office of Congressional Ethics report on Rep. Follow-up with Senator Anderson and explain why you’re in favor of SB-149 which requires presidential candidates to release their last 5 tax returns to be listed on CA election ballot. The Judiciary Committee, of which Senator Anderson is a member, scheduled a hearing for the bill on March 28, 2017. Talking points: During the campaign, President Trump promises to release his tax returns and he has yet to fulfill his promise. We, the public, deserve transparency and honesty from our president and future president candidates.
