- Tuesday, March 15, 2022, 9:00 AM: San Diego County Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting at Board Of Supervisors North Chamber Room 310, 1600 Pacific Highway, Room 402, San Diego, CA 92101. Agenda includes Item #12 on Continuance Of Teleconferenced Public Meetings, Item #15 on Audit Report on San Diego County Sheriff ’s Department Failure to Adequately Prevent and Respond to the Deaths of Individuals in Its Custody, and Item #17 on Preliminary Report on Data-Driven Approaches To Public Safety And Alternatives To Incarceration. - Wednesday, March 16, 2022, 3:00 PM: Escondido City Council Meeting at City Hall Council Chambers, 201 North Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025. The City Council will vote on Recommended Redistricting Plan (PDF) Map 2E as Agenda Item #4. Live broadcast of the meeting will be at escondido.org here. Public comments may be made via Public Comment Form.
Escondido Redistricting
- Watch the Presentation to the City Council on Escondido Recommended Redistricting Plan (Item #14; ~44 minutes).
- Comment on Agenda Item #4 to support Escondido Recommended Redistricting Plan Map 2E. The Escondido Redistricting Commission approved Map 2E and was presented to the City Council on March 2nd. On March 16th, Map 2E will be up for approval by the City Council. See Redistricting Documents & Information for video recordings of past hearings and meetings.

Voting Rights
- Read-up on In Selma, Kamala Harris reflects on the current fight for voting rights.
- Contact Representative Issa, Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and urge them to pass legislation to restore and strengthen the Voting Rights Act of 1965 such as the amended H.R.5314, H.R.4/S.4, H.R.1/S.1 and S.2747. Note that Representative Issa voted no on H.R.5314, H.R.1 & H.R.4 which passed the House but was blocked in the Senate. See Support Democracy Reform with Voting Rights Protections.
COVID-19 & Recovery
- Read-up on Why America Became Numb to COVID Deaths.
- Contact Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to pass an inclusive recovery package under H.R.5376. Note that Representative Issa voted No on expanding child tax credits and universal preschool for children ages 3 and 4 among other “safety-net” expansions.
