Escondido Budget & Homelessness
- Read-up on Escondido Once Again Used One-Time Funds to Close Budget Gap.
- Read-up on Her Work as a Homeless Advocate Almost Cost Her Everything and SDSU report finds inflation driving increased use of Food Bank, especially in North County.
- Contact the Escondido City Council and ask them to do more to address the immediate needs of our community, such as, creating a Safe Parking Program similar to Encinitas and Vista and a Homeless Outreach and Mobile Engagement similar to La Mesa.
Judiciary Reforms
- Read-up on The Elite Circle Clarence Thomas Entered That Led to the Supreme Court. The exclusive Horatio Alger Association brought the justice access to wealthy members and unreported V.I.P. treatment. He, in turn, offered another kind of access.
- Contact Representative Issa, Representative Peters, Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to pass legislation to adopt a code of conduct for the Supreme Court such as S.325/H.R.927 and expand SCOTUS such as S.1616/H.R.3422. LGBTQ+ Rights
- Read-up on California still has an anti-gay marriage law on the books. Voters could remove it next year.
- Contact Representative Issa, Representative Peters, Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to pass the Equality Act to “amend the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation and gender identity”.
