- Wednesday, January 26, 2022, 5:00 PM: Escondido City Council Meeting via teleconference. Agenda includes Item #9 on Escondido Creek Project. Live broadcast of the meeting will be at escondido.org here. Public comments may be made via Public Comment Form.

Escondido Redistricting
- Explore and Comment on Escondido Redistricting Map Visualization 1 and Map Visualization 2 from January 18th along with those from January 10th and January 13th. Map visualizations from January 20th have not been posted yet. The commission will review Community of Interests feedback during meetings on the 24th & 27th and will continue line drawing. The 1st draft map is expected to be posted online on the 28th.

Voting Rights & Democracy

- Read-up on Read the never-issued Trump order that would have seized voting machines and Why Texas election officials are rejecting hundreds of vote-by-mail applications.
- Contact Representative Issa, Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and urge them to pass legislation such as the amended H.R.5314, H.R.4/S.4, H.R.1/S.1 and S.2747 to restore and strengthen the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Note that Representative Issa voted no on H.R.5314, H.R.1 & H.R.4 which passed the House but was blocked in the Senate. COVID-19 & Recovery
- Read-up on First month without the expanded child tax credit has left families in distress.
- Contact Assemblymember Waldron and ask them to pass legislation to provide two weeks COVID-19 paid sick leave and pause evictions due to rising COVID-19 cases. See Labor unions, essential workers call on state to bring back COVID-19 paid sick leave.
- Contact Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to pass an inclusive recovery package under H.R.5376. Note that Representative Issa voted No on expanding child tax credits and universal preschool for children ages 3 and 4 among other “safety-net” expansions.
