  • Tuesday, January 24, 2023, 6:00 PM: Special EUHSD Board Meeting on Escondido Union High School District Service Center, Board Room, 302 North Midway Drive, Escondido, CA 92027. Agenda includes Item #4 on Interviews and selection of candidate to fill Governing Board vacancy in District Area 4 which includes Escondido High School and Orange Glen High School. Live Broadcast of the meeting will be on YouTube. Public comments may be made via E-Comment Form.
  • Wednesday, January 25, 2023, 4:00 PM: Escondido City Council Meeting at City Hall Council Chambers, 201 North Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025. Escondido City Council
  • Read-up on Escondido council to choose from among 11 candidates for District 3 seat.
  • Read-up on Agenda includes Item #7 on City Council District 3 Vacancy Interviews and Candidate Applications. Questions that candidates answered include: “What are your three top priorities for the City?”, “How would you address the City’s structural budget deficit?”, and “How would you address homelessness in Escondido?” Of concern, a few of the candidates presented privatization and criminalization of homelessness as solutions to the above questions.
  • Comment on Item #7 on City Council District 3 Vacancy Interviews and/or Contact the Escondido City Council and express your views and concerns on the City Council District 3 Vacancy.
  • Attend the Escondido City Council Meeting at City Hall Council Chambers, 201 North Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025 on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, 4:00 PM.
Homelessness
  • Read-up on The trend continues: More falling into homelessness than becoming housed in San Diego County and Most Formerly Homeless San Diegans Securing Unsubsidized Rentals.
  • Contact the Escondido City Council and ask them to address the immediate needs of the community, such as, creating a Safe Parking Program similar to Encinitas and Vista and a Homeless Outreach and Mobile Engagement similar to La Mesa.
Federal Budget
  • Read-up on National indivisible’s Legislative Process 101: The Debt Ceiling.
  • Read-up on Explainer: Why we have a debt limit, and why this fight over it may be different and What to know after the US hit its debt ceiling.
  • Contact  Representative Issa, Representative Peters, Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and express support for a clean debt ceiling increase.
