Agenda includes Items #1, #13 & #14 on Homelessness, Item #11 on Alternatives to Incarceration and Items #4 & #16 on COVID-19 Response. - Thursday, February 10, 2022, 2:00 PM: Escondido Library Board of Trustees Meeting at City Hall Council Chambers, 201 North Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025. Agenda includes Item #2 on New Board Member Handbooks, #3 on Strategic Plan Outreach Update, #4 on a New Library/Future of Library Services and #5 on Library Trust Fund. - Comment on Escondido Redistricting 1/27 Preliminary Draft Map (Demographics) which was previously Map Visualization 2C and voted by the Commission to proceed as the 1st draft map. Map visualization from February 3rd has not been posted yet. Previous map visualizations include January 10th, January 13th, Map Visualization 1, Map Visualization 1A, Map Visualization 1B, Map Visualization 2, Map Visualization 2A, Map Visualization 2B, and Map Visualization 2C. COVID-19 & Recovery

- Contact Assemblymember Waldron and ask her to reinstate legislation to provide two weeks COVID-19 paid sick leave (e.g. AB-84) and pause evictions due to rising COVID-19 cases.
- Contact Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to pass an inclusive recovery package under H.R.5376. Note that Representative Issa voted No on expanding child tax credits and universal preschool for children ages 3 and 4 among other “safety-net” expansions. Homelessness
- Read-up on San Diego [City] police response to homelessness gets renewed scrutiny amid staffing shortages and Most Homeless [SD City] Shelters Still Not Welcoming Newcomers.
- Comment in support of Items #1, #13 & #14 for the February 8th meeting to address homelessness in San Diego County. Ask for more funding to expand Mobile Crisis Response Team who are “unarmed behavioral health experts [sent to respond] to mental health, drug or alcohol related emergencies”.
