Welcome to Escondido Indivisible’s weekly action plan for February 21, 2022! The Escondido Redistricting Commission will vote on a final map for approval on February 23, 2022. Please submit a Public Comment on the maps up for consideration: Preliminary (2C) Draft Map (Demographics), Map Visualization 2D, Map Visualization 2E, Map Visualization 1C, Map Visualization 1D.

  • Wednesday, February 23, 2022, 6:00 PM: Independent Redistricting Commission Meeting via Zoom or In-Person at Escondido Library, 239 S. Kalmia St., Escondido CA 92025. Public comments can be made online at Commission Contact Form, Public Comment Form or via redistricting@escondido.org. Escondido Redistricting
  • Read-up on Redistricting commission drafts preliminary electoral map for Escondido.
  • Comment on Escondido Redistricting Preliminary (2C) Draft Map (Demographics), Map Visualization 2D, Map Visualization 2E, Map Visualization 1C, Map Visualization 1D. The Commission will vote on a final map on February 23rd to present to the City Council for approval. Previous map visualizations include January 10th, January 13th, Map Visualization 1, Map Visualization 1A, Map Visualization 1B, Map Visualization 2, Map Visualization 2A, Map Visualization 2B, and Map Visualization 2C. Escondido Budget
  • Complete Escondido City’s survey on “local community priorities and City service needs” for the budget as the city is facing “an $8 million budget gap” and call for more funding to community-based programs and services. Remember that “budget gap/deficit/efficiency” is the justification used for outsourcing our public library to an out-of-state private company and closing our East branch public library. COVID-19 & Recovery
  • Read-up on ​​The Omicron Wave Is Receding But the Pandemic Is Not Over and California adopts nation's first 'endemic' virus policy.
  • Contact Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to pass an inclusive recovery package under H.R.5376. Note that Representative Issa voted No on expanding child tax credits and universal preschool for children ages 3 and 4 among other “safety-net” expansions.
