Events
  • Tuesday, December 8, 2020, 9:00 AM: Board of Supervisors Regular Meeting via teleconference.  Live broadcast of the meeting will be at sandiegocounty.gov here  Agenda includes item #06 on SDC COVID-19 response update. Public comments may be made via eComment service or via email to publiccomment@sdcounty.ca.gov. See Voice Your Opinion.

Election
  • Read-up on November election's high turnout with few problems points toward an all-mail future and Even with near-record voter turnout across San Diego, some neighborhoods fell behind (Based on a quick review of the data, voter turnouts in Escondido precincts are >70%).
  • Contact Assemblymember Waldron and State Senator Jones and express support for legislation where mail ballots are mailed to every registered voter as occurred this Presidential Election due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Police Excessive Use of Force
  • Read-up on Obscure Sheriff’s Review Board Gets New Scrutiny in Court. 
  • Contact the Board of Supervisors and ask them to demand that records from the San Diego County Sheriff Critical Incident Review Board be made public.
Local COVID-19 Response
  • Listen to How We Assess Risks With An Invisible Threat Like The Coronavirus.
  • Read-up on San Diego Hospital Staff Spread Thin, ICUs Nearing Capacity and Most California Residents To Be Under Stay-At-Home Orders Through Christmas.
  • Contact the Board of Supervisors and express support for the regional stay-at-home order. Tell them that you’re concerned about increased community spread of COVID-19 (we’re at 15.3 case rate, 93 community outbreaks, and 8% positivity rate while ICU capacity remains at 23%). 
Federal COVID-19 Response
  • Read-up on Stimulus talks come as numerous coronavirus relief programs are set to expire.
  • Contact Senator Feinstein and urge her to also pass additional COVID-19 relief such as proposed by the HEROES Act. See Relief Can’t Wait: Demand Congress Pass a COVID Relief Bill and Urge Congress to Pass Additional Coronavirus Relief Measures.
