- Wednesday, August 11, 2021, 5:00 PM: Escondido City Council Meeting at City Hall Council Chambers, 201 North Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025. Agenda includes Item #14 on Escondido Housing Commission and Housing Element (see Support Stronger Housing Policies). Live broadcast of the meeting will be at escondido.org here. - Thursday, August 12, 2021, 2:00 PM: Escondido Library Board of Trustees Meeting at City Hall Council Chambers, 201 North Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025. No agenda posted as of Sunday, August 8th. Voting Rights
- Read-up on The Big Money Behind the Big Lie.
- Contact Representative Issa, Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and urge them to pass legislation to restore and strengthen the Voting Rights Act of 1965 such as H.R.1/S.1. Note that Representative Issa voted no on H.R.1 which passed the House but was blocked in the Senate by the filibuster. - Contact State Senator Jones and ask him to support AB-37 to extend vote by mail to all elections in California. AB-37 passed the Assembly 59 to 16. Assemblymember Waldron voted no against extending vote by mail and making voting more accessible.

COVID-19 & Economic Inequality

- Contact Representative Issa, Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to pass legislation to federally pause eviction given the ongoing economic recovery, pandemic and resurgence of COVID-19 cases and legislation such as S. 53/H.R. 603 to raise the federal minimum wage to $15.
