EscInd: Weekly Action Plan for August 2, 2021

Welcome to Escondido Indivisible’s weekly action plan for August 2, 2021! California Gubernatorial Recall Election will be on September 14, 2021. Check your voter registration or register to vote. Mail ballots will be mailed to all registered voters starting August 16th. On The Newsom recall: What happens between now and election day:

The ballots contain two questions:

  • Should Newsom be recalled?
  • Regardless how you voted on the first question, if the governor is recalled, who should he be replaced by?

If more than 50% of voters say that Newsom should be recalled, the top vote-getter in the second question will serve the rest of Newsom’s term, regardless of how few votes that candidate gets.

See Demand your Senator Eliminate the Filibuster to Pass S. 1 and Support Democracy Reform with the For the People Act.
  • Contact State Senator Jones and ask him to support AB-37 to extend vote by mail to all elections in California.  AB-37 passed the Assembly 59 to 16. Assemblymember Waldron voted no against extending vote by mail and making voting more accessible.
