Gun Violence
- Read-up on Mass shootings since Sandy Hook, in one map, How to Buy a Gun in 16 Countries, America's Lost Battle Against White Nationalist Terrorism and White Supremacy Has Never Been Fringe.
- Contact Rep. Hunter, Senator Feinstein and Senator Harris and express support for legislations such as H.R.8 and S.42 which “require a background check for every firearm sale” including online and private sales. H.R.8 passed the House in March with Rep. Hunter voting no. Both Senators Feinstein and Harris are co-sponsors of S.42. See Demand the Senate Reconvene to Expand Background Checks for Gun Purchases.
Election Security
- Read-up on Critical U.S. Election Systems Have Been Left Exposed Online Despite Official Denials.
- Contact State Senator Jones and ask him to support AB-1217 which requires political issue advertisements to disclose top funders & endorsers. Assemblymember Waldron voted no last May when it was on the Assembly Floor. The bill’s next hearing will be on August 20, 2019 with the Senate Elections and Constitutional Amendments Committee. - Contact Senator Feinstein and Senator Harris and ask them to co-sponsor S.1562 which “require campaigns to report any contacts with foreign nationals who are attempting to make campaign donations or otherwise coordinate with the campaign within a week of the contact”. Trump Impeachment

Immigration

- Contact Rep. Hunter, Senator Feinstein and Senator Harris and express concerns about continuing reports of inhumane treatment and separation of asylum-seeking families. Express your support for H.R.1069 (which prohibits unlicensed temporary emergency shelters for unaccompanied migrant children), S.388 (which improves resettlement process for unaccompanied migrant children), S.2135 (which ensures that children in U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) custody have timely access to appropriate medical screening and care as well as proper nutrition, hygiene and sanitation) and the end of mass detention of immigrant.
