- Complete Escondido City’s survey on “local community priorities and City service needs” for the budget as the city is facing “an $8 million budget gap” and call for more funding to community-based programs and services.
COVID-19 Response

- Read-up on As federal COVID funding runs out, support for uninsured suffers and As federal Covid-19 funds dry up, many uninsured lose access to free tests, vaccines.
- Contact Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to support S.3726 which funds research on long COVID-19. Ask for more funding to provide free testing, vaccination and treatment for COVID-19. See Va. Sen. Tim Kaine still has long covid symptoms, introduces bill to research the phenomenon.
Housing & Economic Recovery
- Read-up on What does California eviction deal mean for tenants? and What San Diego renters need to know about California's latest eviction moratorium bill. Quote: “While the bill will stop evictions for people who have applied for assistance, it will not give renters more time to apply for help. California's Emergency Rental Assistance Program will stop accepting new applications at midnight on Thursday.”
- Contact Assemblymember Waldron and State Senator Jones and ask them to pass legislation to extend California's Emergency Rental Assistance and provide more financial relief for renters.
Police Militarization
- Comment on Board of Supervisors Meeting Agenda Item #14 on the Sheriff’s Military Equipment Use Policy. The policy includes grenades and pepper spray intended to be used for “violent civil unrest” but which the department previously used in peaceful protests such as the George Floyd protests in 2022 and escalated tensions instead of de-escalated.
