  • Tuesday, April 19, 2022, 6:00 PM: The Escondido Discussion (on the City Budget and Service Priority) at City Hall Mitchell Room, 201 North Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025.
  • Wednesday, April 20, 2022, 5:00 PM:  Escondido City Council Meeting at City Hall Council Chambers, 201 North Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025. Potential Agenda Item includes  Escondido Police Department Military Use Equipment Policy. Live broadcast of the meeting will be at escondido.org here. Public comments may be made via Public Comment Form.

Escondido Climate Change
  • Read-up on Escondido councilmember says climate change is not city's top priority.
  • Write a letter to the editor in support of Escondido Climate Action Plan and of the City applying for grants to address climate change in the city. See City Council Meeting on 4/6/2022: Climate Action Monitoring Report (~48 minutes presentation & discussions).
Escondido Budget
  • Complete Escondido City’s survey on “local community priorities and City service needs” for the budget as the city is facing “an $8 million budget gap” and call for more funding to community-based programs and services.
  • In-Related News: read-up on California cities spent huge share of federal Covid relief funds on police: Records reveal that some cities gave more stimulus money to law enforcement than to health, housing and food initiatives.
COVID-19 Response
  • Read-up on Immigration dispute derails $10 billion COVID aid bill, $10 Billion COVID-19 Deal Leaves Uninsured Without Support and Experts say US suspension of COVID aid will prolong pandemic.
  • Contact Senator Feinstein and Senator Padilla and ask them to support S.3726 which funds research on long COVID-19. Ask for more funding to provide free testing, vaccination and treatment for COVID-19 and aid for the global pandemic response. See Va. Sen. Tim Kaine still has long covid symptoms, introduces bill to research the phenomenon.
Housing & Economic Recovery
  • Read-up on San Diego [City] moves ahead with no-fault eviction moratorium.
  • Contact Assemblymember Waldron and State Senator Jones and ask them to pass legislation to extend California's Emergency Rental Assistance and provide more financial relief for renters.
