- Tuesday, April 9, 2019, 6:00 PM: Rally & Escondido Union High School District Board Meeting to Support Classified Employees’ Wage Increase at District Office Boardroom, 302 North Midway Drive, Escondido, CA 92027 United. Board meeting begins at 7:00 PM, but rally at 6:00 PM. Please bring family, friends and neighbors and wear blue! For more information, contact juan.m.vargas1988@gmail.com.
- Tuesday, April 9, 2019, 5:30 PM: Vista City Council Meeting at City of Vista Civic Center, Council Chambers, 200 Civic Center Drive, Vista, California 92084. City Council will hear report on public feedback on Climate Action Plan.
- Wednesday, April 10, 2019, 4:30 PM: Escondido City Council Meeting at City Hall Council Chambers, 201 North Broadway, Escondido, CA 92025. **Agenda includes 2nd reading of municipal code amendment to move city council meetings to 6:00 PM. This item #7 is continued from last week’s meeting. It is important that people show up to support.**

Climate Change
- Attend Vista City Council Meeting at City of Vista Civic Center, Council Chambers, 200 Civic Center Drive, Vista, California 92084 on Tuesday, April 9, 2019, 5:30 PM. Vista City Council will hear report on public feedback on Climate Action Plan. Why: The City Council ultimately decides what is in the climate action plan. Public support/public comments are crucial in influencing the Council’s actions. The only way we will get a good climate action plan is public pressure. We all need to show up for this one!
- In-related news: Escondido moves forward with new recycled water plant plans.
Trump-Russia Investigation
- Read-up on Some Mueller team members aren’t happy with Barr’s description of their findings and Mueller report: Senate Republicans keep blocking a resolution to make the report public.
- Contact Rep. Hunter, Senator Feinstein and Senator Harris and ask them to ensure the full public disclosure of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report. Note: Rep. Hunter voted yes on H.Con.Res.24, a resolution to make the report public, but it is stalled in the Senate. See Investigating Trump and Holding Him Accountable.
Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act
- Read-up on House Renews Violence Against Women Act And GOP Split Over Gun Provisions and The House passes update to Violence Against Women Act in face of NRA opposition.
- Contact Rep. Hunter and express disappointment on his no vote on H.R.1585 to reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act.
- Contact Senator Feinstein and Senator Harris and ask them to vote yes on H.R.1585 to reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act. See Support Reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act.
