The Arts
- Read-up on Escondido seeking new management for California Center for the Arts, Future of Escondido's ‘crown jewel' theater in jeopardy as city looks to cut costs and Escondido arts center may get new management, residents concerned.
- Contact the Escondido City Council and ask them to support the California Center for The Arts Escondido Foundation (CCAEF) to continue managing the CCAE. See Raise Your Voice: Shape the Future of CCAE.
Post-Election Day
- Volunteer to help cure ballots and phone-bank for Derek Tran for Congress in CA-45, and check back for other ballot curing events at Mobilize. See Democrat Derek Tran pulls ahead of GOP's Michelle Steel by 36 votes in the 45th House District and Democrats nab 2 wins in tight SoCal races that could decide if the House goes red or blue. Note that AP has called 218 GOP to 212 Dems seats with 5 races left to be called.
- Volunteer to write postcards for Mississippi Supreme Court Justice in Re-Election Runoff with Postcards To Voters. See How [State] Supreme Court Elections Set the Stage for Coming Battles, from Voting to Abortion.
- Contact Senator Butler and Senator Padilla and ask them to confirm President Biden's judicial nominees and fill every judicial vacancy before the end of the year. Note that Representative Adam Schiff has been elected as a California senator replacing Senator Butler.

Immigration

Those affected are taking action, and California workers could lose deportation protections.
- Read-up on Trump announces former ICE official Tom Homan as border czar and Trump is stacking his White House with immigration hawks.
- Contact Senator Butler and Senator Padilla and ask them to pass legislation to protect undocumented immigrants and provide them a pathway to citizenship.
- Contact Assemblymember Maienschein and State Senator Jones and ask them to provide more funding to protect California immigrant communities from losing their residentship and citizenship protections. Note that Assemblymember Maienschein is termed out and Democrat Darshana Patel is leading by 7.8% point in the race for the 76th assembly. State Senator Jones is the current Republican leader of the State Senate.
Reproductive Rights

- Contact Representative Issa, Representative Peters, Senator Butler and Senator Padilla and ask them to pass legislation to codify abortion, contraception and reproductive rights into federal laws such as H.R.782, H.R.3420 and H.R.4303. Note that Representative Issa had previously praised the overturn of Roe vs. Wade and voted against codifying abortion rights.
