EscInd: Action Plan for November 11, 2024
Hello Escondido Indivisible members,
Eight years ago when Donald Trump was elected president, we showed up, we organized, we protested, we answered calls for actions, and equally important, we voted. For the past eight years, we fought and resisted Trump’s authoritarianism and Trumpism.
So, it’s both disheartening and maddening that we’re standing again on familiar grounds and facing the reality of at least another four years of Trumpism and a Trump with executive powers again — something that we had fought so hard and tirelessly to successfully remove from the White House four years ago and tried equally so hard and tirelessly, but unsuccessfully to prevent four years later.
As we grieve and process the results of this year’s election, know that we’re not alone and our efforts are not in vain. The communities that we joined and built are still here, and our continued presence and collective actions reinforce the strength of our coalition and opposition to Donald Trump and of our belief in our ability to bring change, together.
So, take a deep breath, recharge and recover, and when we're ready, here are some actions that we can take or read-up in the near-term. Take care and stay safe!
