Dear Friends,
Tomorrow is our opportunity to make our voices impossible to ignore.
For six weeks our community has written letters, attended meetings, submitted public comments, volunteered countless hours, and spoken up for Kit Carson Park.
Now it's time to Stand Together and Wear Green.
Wednesday, July 29
City Council Meeting – 5:00 pm
Escondido City Hall, 201 N. Broadway, Escondido
Help us show a visible sign of unity and support for protecting Kit Carson Park. Please wear green to the meeting. Arrive early and meet us before entering City Hall chambers to pick up a pin, sticker, or other item to wear during the meeting. Together, we can make our presence visible and show the City Council that our community cares deeply about the future of this special place.
Whether you plan to speak or simply fill a seat, your presence matters. A full Council Chambers sends a powerful message that the people of Escondido care deeply about protecting one of our city's most treasured public parks.
Our message remains simple:
We support bringing ice sports to Escondido.
We support recreation and economic development.
We do not support placing this project in Kit Carson Park.
We ask the City to complete the CEQA process, conduct a full Environmental Impact Report, perform traffic studies during the school year, and meaningfully evaluate alternative locations BEFORE considering a long-term land lease.
