Come to the next meeting of the EDC and hear from a great organization, the California Immigrant Policy Center and Seeds of Dignity.
EDC will also review actions being taken to Cancel all Agreement to stop ICE from using our firing range. Organizing plans will be discussed for the Feb. 25th City Council meeting when we will be demanding that the City Cancel the Contract between our Police Department and ICE. Learn the latest info and join in the actions.
Background
On January 14, the Escondido Police Department entered into a contract that allows DHS/ICE to use our Escondido firing range. Mayor White has scheduled this for the City Council discussion on February 25th However we now know that the City could cancel this anytime. We are demanding an Emergency Special Session. If that doesn’t happen, we urge everyone to plan to attend City Council on the 25th to oppose this ICE Contract. Let them know that inviting more armed, masked ICE agents into our city is not acceptable and makes Escondido less safe.
