Update and Reprint Reminder
Good Morning. I have been doing these articles now for 3 months. Many of my writings were originally in "note" form for use in the pulpit. In posting them here, I have to reformat and "fill in the blanks" of the message. Still doing that. Most are more than 25 years old, but the message doesn't change.
But, in doing so, it has expanded some old messages from an outline form to a printed page and increased the number of pages. There are some 1 and 2 page items which came about as thoughts while editing, such as the one following this note, probably tomorrow. However, most are a bit longer as they were used in Bible studies and "Sunday School." By a bit longer, I mean full studies of 10 pages or more. I'm not sure how to present these extra long ones without being tedious so when we are bordering on that, I would hope you folks will say something. Alternately, I am considering putting the really long ones, 50 and more pages, in another format here or an e-book.
Also, just a reminder, the present subscribers to my posts were compiled from my standing old email files. If you do not wish to receive these postings, just poke the unsubscribe at the bottom. And I won’t be upset. Not everyone is interested in receiving these, but I had to start somewhere.
On the other hand, if you like what you see or know someone that might, I hope you will forward this or any of the posts and help the site grow. They can subscribe by selecting “subscribe” at the bottom of the page. They should be told they can always unsubscribe in the same manner. NO PERSONAL INFORMATION IS REQUIRED.
After the initial presentation back in April, some old email addresses disappeared. Some folks unsubscribed and some new subscribers signed on. After the flurry of the first month, we leveled out. We have been gaining new subscribers, but slowly.
Unless there is a glitch, I also post these articles on facebook and twitter, through the Buttondown interface page. (I think that's the right word. You probably figured out by now I am no techie.)
So again, people will try new things on the recommendation of friends. I hope you will all consider making a "recommend." If you are reading these, but not a subscriber, I hope you will sign on as one. It would be greatly appreciated.
And I would like to make a strong "recommend" here .... Jesus Christ. (And that is not a cuss word as many use it today.)
It is the Christians’ privilege, duty and honor to present Him to the world. So let me ask;
Do you believe God? Do you believe you are a sinner? Do you believe the words of Jesus Christ, the savior of mankind, when He gave you the answer to all things in John 3:16?
The thief on the Cross had little information about Jesus and even less time left than most of us right now. But the minimum of faith which he had was all he needed. He made that profession of faith in Jesus Christ as God and savior moments before he breathed his last, Luke 23:42. And Jesus immediately accepted it, Luke 23:43. I will meet this unnamed thief in Heaven as a brother in Christ. But what about you?
We don't know what the next moment brings, nor the amount of time left for us, but we do know our position before God. I was a sinner (still am actually) but God forgave me and does so daily because I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior based on this same limited knowledge as the thief. I am now a saved believer by faith in Jesus Christ. And like the thief, I had only a minimal amount of knowledge in this area. But it was enough. You can do the same. Right now is the time to act and receive forgiveness and be welcomed by God into His eternal family. There are no scriptural words to say. Just pray from the heart relying on God to do as He promised, and He will. The following is a guideline only.
A Sinner’s Prayer: God I recognize you as the Almighty God and creator. I know from my own life I am a sinner according to your word. Help me to turn away from sin. I am asking your forgiveness and asking Jesus to come into my life and heart and save me. I am asking in the name of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
If you have prayed these words, or words similar, from your heart, God heard and you are saved for evermore.
It may seem simple to be saved, and it is. But now the learning begins and with it is the strengthening of your faith. We/I will help you as much as possible. In the near future, you will begin helping others. That is our mission. Welcome to the family!
