The Bible vs. Doctrine and Tradition - Page 1

The Bible is No Longer America’s Book of Choice. Although it is still the best selling book of all time, it did not make the top 25 list in 2021.

At this time in our nation, the United States of America, and Christian churches worldwide are struggling. There are several questions that are in the forefront of our lives, questions which have generated this struggle. The primary question is God, is He real? Quite succinctly, we believers know He is more than real, Psalm 33. This has been the message, doctrine and tradition of the Church of Jesus Christ since before the Bible was begun to be put to print, at Sinai, Exodus 24:4.

I take this position, along with the founders of this country who wrote in the Declaration of Independence, “… We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness…”, July 4, 1776. God is in our lives as citizens regardless of our personal interest in Him.

The Declaration of Independence states our position of belief in the God of Creation as a people to the rest of the world.

The Constitution lays out how we are to operate as a nation. The Declaration states why.

Our country was founded upon the principles and directives of God. They are found in the Bible. But of late, the new historians have tried to re-frame this position. The new historians do not accept the Bible. Ignoring it does not change the truth of the words written in its many chapters.

There is a strong relationship between God, the Bible and the USA. And this “Book” is not alterable if the nation is to continue under the blessing of God, Revelation 22:18-19.

We need only look at “real” history, as catalogued in the secular history books, the ones before the new historians “woke” and took over, to see the nations who walked away from God collapsed into anarchy or oligarchy or disappeared. We can see a comparative in the original nation of Israel. They were our “schoolmasters” in their actions not just in the Law, Galatians 3:24; Romans 11:25. They walked away from God, and the nation died.

So now we see Americans closing the door on God. It is a bad move, Revelation 3:20.

Our present situation has been generated by a small number of loud libertines pushing their “doctrines” which are based on traditions of men and man-made religions. And many of these doctrines have the support of folks in buildings marked as “churches.”

Man does not like to be told what to do and when to do it, even by God. That has been the problem with mankind since the Garden. And it came to true fruition with the sin of Cain, Genesis 4:5.

Oh, of course, these new doctrines have “a little Bible” built into them, but they are skewed, degenerate at times, and baseless. They are as opinions of evil. And I emphasize “opinions” as they are but words of men. Yet, doctrine and tradition are built on them. Jesus noted this in Matthew 23:23. Other similar issues are addressed in that chapter.

Every doctrine and tradition must overlay and agree with the Bible. If it does not, then it is not just questionable, it is fallacious. It doesn’t matter who the person is who is speaking, myself included, or what denomination they represent. If the doctrine or tradition violates or comes before the Word of God, it is false and must be discarded.

As I have said many times already in my previous pages, my purpose here is not to direct, but to cause thought which will generate Bible study which will, hopefully, bring us closer to God. The individual must measure what he is taught against what is said in the Bible.
