Progressive Revelation - Part 2 of 2

The Bible is the anvil Christianity and truth, and adherence to it is the benchmark of true faith in God. It is not all of God's Words, but it is all God's words.

The Bible is also the foundation of Judaism. And it is also the base for writings of several other belief systems, some of which deny its validity and truths. Further, we will find most modern day spin-offs from “Christianity,” while trying to keep this title, have rewritten portions of the Bible, designing it to meet a doctrine fitting their individual beliefs and wants. The Bible identifies them. Paul calls them out, 2nd Timothy 3:1-7; Peter calls them out, 2nd Peter 2:1-3; Jude calls them out, Jude 1:10-13; John calls them out, 2nd John 1:7-11.

God's Word says He alone is the Creator, Exodus 20;1-3; the only true God, Jeremiah 10;10; that all men/people are sinners, Romans 3:23; that all must confess to Him their sinful state, 1st John 1:8-10; that Jesus Christ is the only way of forgiveness, Acts 4:12, and eternal salvation, John 3:16. And upon this confession of faith in Jesus Christ, we are “sealed” by God’s promises, Ephesians 1:13, for eternity, John 3:16.

So we ask again, "What is your position with and before God?"

For the saved, those that have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior, I would remind them that we, you and I, are not perfect in our earthly state, that forgiveness is a daily issue, 1st John 1:8-9. And we should be ever mindful that we are, in our earthly state, needful of forgiveness daily, Psalm 51:12-13 in order to perform our calling.

For those that have never accepted Jesus Christ as their personal savior, we extend this invitation; Come to God with a repentant attitude and ask Him to forgive you. Accept God’s forgiveness through Jesus Christ, Romans 6:23, forgiveness guaranteed by God Himself, John 10:28-29, and never to be taken away, Ephesians 1:13. There are no specific words to say or think only a heartfelt prayer of confession to God, recognizing Him as Lord of all creation, admitting that you are sinner and asking Jesus Christ to come into your life and save you, John 14:6; Acts 4:12.

Help is just a simple prayer away, for believers and non-believers alike.

“Progressive Revelation?” Yes, it is a fact and I am glad my friend and his group developed this label. It helps me to know that I don’t know it all and never will, that with each day God will show me a bit more about Himself. But I do know that Jesus has saved me from the eternal judgement of suffering. How about you?
