Celebrate National Iced Tea Month with savings on a wide collection of teas that are terrific at any temperature!
June is National Iced Tea Month, so through July 5th, please enjoy savings on over 8 dozen teas that will keep you cool when iced and warm your heart all year long!
Some of us drink hot tea all year round, but for the rest of us, there's much more we can do with tea in the summer than simply ice it! Check out my Tips & Techniques for Chilled Tea Treats eBook, on sale all summer long, for recipes and ideas for everything from tea popsicles to sparkling tea, tea semi-freddo, and even DIY freeze pops with tea!
And yes, you can also read our tried-and-true recommendations for easily making regular iced tea that's full of natural flavor for free in my Iced Tea Guide on the Discover Teas website!
Did You Know?
Hibiscus tisane, agua de jamaica, karkadeh, sorrel, bissap, zobo, sobolo, and foléré are just a few of the names the herbal infusion of Hibiscus sabdariffa and its variants, native to west-central Africa, have around the world.
This naturally red flower's tart flavor and vibrant hue make it a winner for many whether enjoyed on its own simply hot or iced, unsweetened or sweetened, garnished with mint and/or lime, steeped with a variety of warming festive spice blends, mixed with citrus and/or pineapple, or with any combination of the above (and more besides).
But the delights of hibiscus don't end at the flower (technically, the sepal)! Its leaves and stems are also sometimes cooked and eaten and its fruits can be used to make jam. The fresh flowers and leaves can be crushed for their natural saponin, which can be used as an ingredient in bubble solutions.
Those same saponins made hibiscus a sought-after ingredient in early South Asian shampoos, and it continues to be a popular extract in hair care to this day. Hibiscus bast fibers can even be used as a substitute for jute when making burlap.
It's also full of vitamin C and antioxidants such as the anthocyanin that give it its deep red color! To learn more about hibiscus' components, uses, and some of Discover Teas' hibiscus-heavy blends, click here to search blog posts about hibiscus made by former Discover Teas staff in our tea journal!

Pride Month donations: Supporting LGBT Life Center of Hampton Roads and the Black Trans Advocacy Coalition!
As the baseless and bigoted attacks on the lives and civil rights of our trans family, friends, and neighbors increase, it's more important than ever to support trans organizations not only nationally but also in our local communities.
That's why this month, 20% of all online retail sales (not including tax and shipping) from June 1st through July 5th will be donated to LGBT Life Center, which is based in Norfolk and Hampton and provides services throughout the 757, and the Black Trans Advocacy Coalition, which uses community education, public policy initiatives, and direct services to improve the lived experience of trans people nationwide.
June Action Hour: Saturday, June 27th, 4:30pm Eastern!
Need ideas? This month's optional theme: What does solidarity look like?
This month's Action Hour will be on Saturday, 06/27/26, at 4:30pm Eastern/3:30pm Central/2:30pm Mountain/1:30pm Pacific.
If you can make it, click this link to join the June Action Hour on 06/27/26 at 4:30pm Eastern. Please do NOT share this link with people who are not subscribed to the newsletter (although you can of course encourage them to sign up if you like!).
These meetings use Jitsi Meet, a video conferencing platform that is free to use, works on desktop and mobile browsers without the need for an app (although one is available), does not require attendees to log in, and does not collect or sell your data. You do not need to use your full name, camera, or microphone in these meetings unless you want to.
What's an Action Hour? Check out my blog post on the completely optional "Take a Stand, Make a Plan" incentive program to encourage protecting human rights and building stronger communities. By participating by either donating to an organization or joining an Action Hour, you can receive a $25 Discover Teas gift card code to use or to gift.
You're always welcome to join Action Hour, even if you don't have any specific plans for that time! It's a great space to brainstorm ideas, share resources, think about different groups we can reach out to, and come up with helpful scripts or schedules that can lessen the cognitive and emotional load of these tasks. It can also be an opportunity to discuss strategies for managing the deluge of dire news in a productive fashion while still staying informed and compassionate, ways to help keep each other safe, and how to identify or recover from burnout, so we can feel strengthened and less alone.
Can't make it? I know everyone's schedule is different, so Action Hour days and times vary each month so people in different timezones or who have different schedules can also participate.
