Within the pages of a tattered tome, the cogs of one’s mind gives ideas shape.💠

The great thing about being a creative, is that they can all work. My story is a bit more simpler than the stories of old and make-believe but I hope to intrigue you nevertheless.

Welcome to Tales of a Creative! I’m Critters, an individual, somewhere along the shores of Sydney, Australia whose striving to grow my creative expertise and personal self. 🇦🇺

Getting immersed in some creative project appears to be a specialty of mine, even if it means seeing a list of creative projects pile up quicker than this week’s grocery shopping…

Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been captivated by the imagination. From the distant worlds of fiction, to turning ideas into reality through the likes of Lego, Minecraft or adventures in real life. Fast-forward to now and whilst my creative pursuits have fluctuated, the creative fire is still inside of me. From telling inspiring and imaginative stories through the art of animation, to making videos, pixel textures and now, the latest creative endeavour, beginning a newsletter!

Writing has been something I’ve done over the years of making video scripts or animated stories, though I for one certainly wasn’t an avid English enthusiast during school, save for the creative writing topics. However, the more I’ve written scripts for videos or animations, the more I understand the importance of writing in the pursuits for creatives. Its a way to communicate ideas, tell stories and gain glimpses into the minds of the authors.

So, 2 months after initially contemplating starting a newsletter (cause let’s be fair, procrastination is a shared devil among us), here we are! Tales of a Creative is a place where I want to foster a connection with the community and you, the reader around my personal and creative journeys.

A recent quote that resonates well with my intentions behind this newsletter came from Adam Savage “There’s no way to build a better world without a community” and this especially rings true with all individuals, creatives included in making a positive impact through what they do. Though I may not know you personally or virtually, your company is most welcome!

Every endeavour we pursue - be it a creative, challenging or monumental one, always begins with a first step. This marks the beginning of a collection of Tales that will explore a more personal side to me that you may have not seen before and hopefully, connect and inspire you through this.

Each tale will be different, but in a nutshell, here’s what to expect:
