“All Ends are Beginnings” 📖
The closing points of a major life chapter are some of the most transformative experiences we encounter in our lives.
Frodo’s departure from The Shire and his companions at the end of the Lord of the Rings, Luke Skywalker leaving Tatooine and exploring the galaxy with Ben Kenobi. It’s quite clear why these are such pivotal character moments in stories and how they’re equally as significant (maybe more even) in the moments we experience in our own lives.
A cacophony of thoughts brought to one specific point. When released, they ripple across all aspects of your life - family, friends, lifestyle, environment, your personality. These decisions peel away the old you, revealing a newer, refined version of yourself who will navigate this next pivotal stage of your life.

Recently, I’ve brought one chapter of my life to a close and stepping into a new frontier; ‘spreading the wings’, leaving my family, Sydney and Australia behind and embarked on a one way trip to Auckland, New Zealand! 🇳🇿
This decision was one simmering for sometime and certainly gives me mixed feelings - nervous excitement is the way to sum up these emotions for now. As for why Auckland and New Zealand, there’s a few reasons:
I’ve previously visited New Zealand on numerous occasions and have enjoyed much of what the country offers: scenery, lifestyle, weather, the people, Lord of the Rings, etc.
It shares many similarities with Australia, but different enough that they’re not one and the same
New Zealand is ‘Across the Ditch’, they’re both close to each other without requiring to travel the other side of the world (though I certainly commend and respect those who’ve done that!).
Going across gives me an opportunity to improve myself mentally - greater independence, organising, budgeting and many other things too!

Yes - travelling in a country is quite different from living there, but the closeness of NZ to Australia offers that opportunity to live overseas and remain close to family (in fact, I’ll be with some family initially in NZ too!)
Giving it a go now provides the flexibility and opportunity to experience life in a different country, especially being as close as it is to Australia.
I’m still very much in the early phases, so I can’t quite assess things just yet, but I will share further updates about my time here in future Tales!
Have you embarked on a new frontier yourself? If so, I’d be happy to hear it! ✈️
