YouTube adds pop music to photos in Shorts

As YouTube attempts to move its Posts section into a new, more active area of its app, it recently began blending photo posts and carousels into the Shorts section. Now YouTube have added the ability to add up to 15 seconds of licensed, popular music to those photo posts to justify their place in your Shorts feed.

While it’s a small change that is not yet monetisable, it is a useful addition for those who are eligible for photo posts.

Instagram introduces new tools for creators using Meta AI glasses

Meta have announced new features for their AI glasses on Instagram stories, including a ‘spin view’ format, allowing users to turn their phone horizontally while watching a video to get the full view through the AI glasses.

It also provides a second perspective to make the user’s story multi-angle, especially useful for instructional videos. Along with these, new editing tools allow users to reframe their wide-angle footage to focus on the most important part of their view, to remove background noise from the audio, and to adjust the speed of the story to make it more engaging.

TikTok launches Agentic Hub

In May, TikTok released its own MCP server, allowing AI agents to interact directly with TikTok Ads Manager. It has now launched Agentic Hub, a marketplace built on top of that server, where advertisers can plug in their ready-made first-party and third-party 'AI Skills' from partners like HubSpot and Wix to handle campaign creation, creative generation, and analytics.

By removing the need for marketers to build a custom MCP integration themselves, the Agentic Hub lowers the technical barrier to agentic ad automation.

X launches livestream studio to simplify live broadcasts

X have updated their Creator Studio platform to make it easier for creators to schedule and run their live broadcasts in the app. The dashboard provides creators with audience insights, alongside chat control options and thumbnail uploads. It is only available to users who pay for X Premium or higher.

To promote their new live broadcasting options, they are offering $1 million in creator funding for live streamers this month (whether that’s for one creator or split among many creators is unclear).

Threads adds live chat co-hosts

Building on their live chat feature, Threads now allows users to co-host a live chat within communities, with each live chat supporting up to three co-hosts who can help to manage the discussions and expand the audience of the chat. There are also improved deletion options to keep the chat civil and on topic.
