SCARF: Sheffield Comic ARts Fair
Hi folks,
I'll keep this one short and sweet - as you may have seen if you follow me on social media, I'm (against my better judgement) running a comics fair/convention in Sheffield this October!

SCARF (Sheffield Comic ARts Fair) will take place at Trafalgar Warehouse in the city centre on Saturday October 10th. It'll be completely free entry, and we'll have a line-up of amazing guests from Sheffield, Yorkshire and across the UK that includes comics artists, writers, zine-makers, letterers, editors and publishers, from big Eisner-winning names to new creators just starting their comics journey. We've also got the amazing Graphic Novel Reading Room (a Sheffield institution) setting up shop all day and providing a cosy space for people to read comics - either from their library or fresh purchases from the tables.
I want this to be a fun event for all ages, so we've got Marc Jackson (Marc Makes Comics!) running two kids workshops across the day - Marc is the organiser of the great MACC-POW festival and holds workshops to get kids excited about drawing comics regularly, so I'm very grateful to have him involved.
Here's the full line-up of guests who'll be tabling at SCARF, in alphabetical order:
April the Frog Comics, beebeezed, Bex Ollerton, xbleaxhx (Blast! Comic UK), Chie Hosaka, Colossive Press, Darryl Cunningham, Deadly Knitshade, Dearbhla Kelly, Fiona Creates, Fran Morton, Holly Casio, J. I'm also very grateful to SHU Illustration @ Sheffield Hallam University and Avery Hill Publishing for throwing their support behind the event and helping get the word out. Please pop it in your diaries, spread the word and try to make it down, I very much want this to be a successful day for everyone tabling!
