The Maiden Voyage 🏴‍☠️

WELCOME TO CAFE WHATEVER

How we doin’, chat? Just kidding! I know we’re all doing terribly. Which I guess is why I’m here. As far back as I can remember, writing has been the first, best, and most reliable way for me to build community.

And for a while now (since Trump’s initial rise to power, really), I’ve allowed a reliance on social media outrage (let’s call it co-dependence, because that’s what my therapist calls it) to take the place of actively writing and actively building community.

So, if you want to find me…LOOK TO THE WESTERN SKYYYYYY!

No, actually, just look here. Here is where I’ll be (and also a little bit on Bluesky, because co-dependence).

I will be writing about writing, I will be writing about sobriety, I will be writing about mutual aid, I will be writing about movies, but let’s be honest, I’ll mostly be writing about pro wrestling. Because Cafe Whatever is simply the place I’ve created to talk about whatever I care deeply about with whoever wants to listen. And because there’s no better place to tell a story, write a book, or just bullshit with your friends than the cafe.

Thanks for being here. 🖤
