CVMC e-News 12th April 2026

Because of a mix up over two Colonial old Boys, Clive of India and Cecil Rhodes, the new address for Alan and Chris Dodds, as given last week, was wrong.  Alan and Chris will be there now but will be overjoyed to receive a ‘Welcome to your new home’ card.  The correct address? 34 Cecil Road, Lancing, W Sussex BN15 8MP.

Now, some of you won’t have seen the error because only about 50% of you received last weeks E-News. Buttondown, the service provider, had a ‘Rate Limited’ error which prevented them sending the e-News to all addresses last Thursday.  I’m more than happy to tell you that Buttondown worked to clear the fault and it would have been possible to send the e-News to those who missed out after the Easter weekend. I felt that – as a lot of the information would be out of date, you’d be far happier to wait for this weeks edition.

There is some Parish specific information at the end of the e-News for Willand and Uffculme - please do read to the end.

Parish specific notices:  Willand - Uffculme

WILLAND Monday 20th April 6.30pm – Annual Parochial Church Meeting.  In connection with this there will be vacancies on the PCC as three current members have reached the end of the three-year term.  If you feel called to assist in the background running of the wider fellowship you are invited to speak to Revd Ben, Lesley Smith (Churchwarden) or Chris Sparkes (PCC secretary) between now and the 21st. Please prayerfully consider.

There is an opening for volunteers to the role of welcomers on a Sunday (includes opening and preparing the church) for services.   Also, anyone who feels able to assist at Holy Communion services as Chalice bearer would be most welcome and training and guidance would be provided. If you are interested, please contact Lesley Smith, Churchwarden, to discuss.

If you’d like to help but prefer to keep Sundays clear, Paul Hockey would be delighted to welcome you onto the Church Door Opening rota. Being on that rota entitles you to unlock and lock up the church throughout the week, Mondays to Fridays. The task would fall to you every five or six weeks.  Happy to help? Have a word with Paul – 07565 377 537
