Welcome Our Newest Member
Malena Bielski - We are excited to welcome Malena to our church family. As we mentioned earlier in our newsletter, she has recently graduated from DelVal with a degree in Animal Science and is currently working as a Large Animal Technician at Lampire Biological Laboratories. She loves working with animals and plans to enter veterinary school within the next couple years.
Although raised in an atheist family, the Lord used a co-worker to introduce her to Jesus Christ. She is eagerly reading her Bible and praises God for all she's been learning at Christ Covenant.
She will be baptized and received into membership this Sunday, June 28th. To help celebrate this occasion, we will have a pot-providence lunch. So, even though it is the fourth Sunday, we are asking everyone to bring a dish to share.
Special Prayer Requests
- Mark and Martha Herzer - Mark's recent cardiac MRI and cardiologist appointment showed that his cardiac function has increased from 20% to 35%. We praise God that things are moving in the right direction. He still needs to meet with a surgeon to determine the next steps. Please continue to keep Mark and Martha in prayer.
- Patty Carnes - Her hernia surgery is scheduled for Friday, July 24th. May the Lord help manage the pain until then.
- Jeff & Elena Kermah - May the Lord sustain them as they adjust to the various problems with water, electricity, and thunderstorms damaging critical electrical components.
- General Assembly - Terry Carnes will be traveling back from Louisville, KY, on Friday, June 26th.
Catechism Review
Don’t forget to keep up with your Westminster Shorter Catechism (WSC)! We are Reviewing Q&A #58 & #59 this week:
Q. 58. What is required in the fourth commandment?
A. The fourth commandment requireth the keeping holy to God such set times as He hath appointed in His word; expressly one whole day in seven, to be a holy sabbath to Himself.
Q. 59. Which day of the seven hath God appointed to be the weekly sabbath?
A. From the beginning of the world to the resurrection of Christ, God appointed the seventh day of the week to be the weekly sabbath; and the first day of the week ever since, to continue to the end of the world, which is the Christian sabbath.
