10:45 AM Morning Worship: Elder Wayne Bowen will be leading us in worship and Pastor Mark Herzer will be preaching.
Sermon: ”Gentleness & Prayer”
Scripture: Philippians 4:4-7

12:30 PM Adult Sunday School: Join us as Pastor Mark Herzer continues our study of the Westminster Larger Catechism. We will be looking at Q&A #42, considering why our mediator was called Christ.

Children Sunday School: Deb Bowen will be teaching children from 3 years on up, in the front Sunday School room.

Church Luncheon: Immediately following our Sunday School.
All are invited. Plan to stay for food and fellowship.

Reminder: This Sunday the church will be providing hot dogs, rolls and condiments. Feel free to bring chips, or something similar, if you like.

Snacks: All are welcome to bring snacks as they desire.

Health Updates

• Mark Herzer - Mark met with his vascular doctor who gave him a thumbs up for surgery. He will be meeting with his surgeon this upcoming Monday.

• Michelle Kellner - Her first results have come back and they show no signs of heart disease! Still waiting on the results of her heart monitor.

• Patty Carnes - Recovering well from her surgery. Still needs to recover her strengh.

• Terry Carnes - Is back to work, and is now working full time. Finds himself getting close to becoming overwhelmed with all that needs to be done and all that needs to be re-learned.

Special Prayer Requests

• Mark and Martha Herzer - Pray that God's will be done as they talk with his surgeon Monday and form a plan moving forward. They had a wonderful visit with both daughters and two grandchildren. Now they have to get used to a quiet home again!

• Jeff & Elena Kermah - Praise God that more and more are attending their Sunday morning worship. Pray that the Lord will provide a larger place to meet. Their current place is becoming too cramped and hot (even with fans). Jeff asks specific prayer that he might be able to disciple a certain young man who is in his final year.
  

  Continue to pray for Elena and her health as she homeschools the older children.

Catechism Review

Don’t forget to keep up with your Westminster Shorter Catechism (WSC)! We are reviewing Q&A #60 & 61 this week:

Q. 60. How is the sabbath to be sanctified?

A. The sabbath is to be sanctified by a holy resting all that day, even from such worldly employments and recreations as are lawful on other days; and spending the whole time in the public and private exercises of God’s worship, except so much as is to be taken up in the works of necessity and mercy.

Q. 61. What is forbidden in the fourth commandment?

A. The fourth commandment forbiddeth the omission or careless performance of the duties required, and the profaning the day by idleness, or doing that which is in itself sinful, or by unnecessary thoughts, words or works, about our worldly employments or recreations.

Nursery and Toddler Room

Just a reminder for those who would like to use the Nursery and Toddler Rooms.

Nursery Room
The Nursery is for the use of mothers and their babies. In an effort to keep it clean and quiet, we ask that others not use it.

Before leaving the Nursery each week, please be sure all diaper trash is emptied into one of the main trash cans.

Toddler Room
The Toddler Room has a few toys for the use of our youngest members. Before leaving the Toddler Room each week, please make sure all toys are put away.

Upcoming Events

August 12th - Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. - Prayer Meeting via Zoom. We will read and discuss a passage in Jeremiah, and spend some time in prayer. Contact Pastor Mark or one of the elders if you would like to receive the weekly Zoom link.

August 26th, Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. - Hymn Sing - We will meet at someone’s house on the 26th. Lord willing, we hope to do this every last Wednesday of the month. Please bring a dessert to share.
