Scripture: Philippians 4:2-7

Lord's Supper – We will be partaking of the Lord’s Supper during the Morning Worship Service. According to the Westminster Shorter Catechism Q97, those of us preparing to receive the Lord’s Supper are to examine ourselves of our knowledge to discern the Lord’s body, of our faith to feed upon him, of our repentance, love, and new obedience; lest, coming unworthily, we eat and drink judgment to ourselves.

12:30 PM Adult Sunday School: Join us as Pastor Mark Herzer shares some readings on how death is a benefit to believers.

Children Sunday School: Deb Bowen will be teaching children from 3 years on up, in the front Sunday School room.

Church Luncheon: Immediately following our Sunday School.
All are invited. Plan to stay for food and fellowship.

Reminder: This Sunday we're asking those with a last name beginning with A-G to please bring a main dish & side dish to serve 12 or so people.

Snacks: All are welcome to bring snacks as they desire.

Special Prayer Requests

• Mark and Martha Herzer - Mark will be meeting with another specialist this week regarding his carotid artery. Then he will be meeting with his surgeon the week after. Pray for wisdom as these men work together to form a plan moving forward. Also pray for the entire family as they enjoy having their girls and youngest grandchildren visiting this week!
• Jeff & Elena Kermah - Continue to pray for Jeff as he preaches and that the Lord would begin to gather together both those to be saved and those to grow in their walk with the Lord. Jeff asks specific prayer that God would raise up leaders from these students whom they can train, give opportunities to serve with them in the work, and then send them back to their cities to plant churches.
  

  Continue to pray for Elena and her health as she homeschools the older children.

• Michelle Kellner - Her medical tests have been postponed until August 5th.

Catechism Review

Don’t forget to keep up with your Westminster Shorter Catechism (WSC)! We are reviewing Q&A #60 & 61 this week:

Q. 60. How is the sabbath to be sanctified?

A. The sabbath is to be sanctified by a holy resting all that day, even from such worldly employments and recreations as are lawful on other days; and spending the whole time in the public and private exercises of God’s worship, except so much as is to be taken up in the works of necessity and mercy.

Q. 61. What is forbidden in the fourth commandment?

A. The fourth commandment forbiddeth the omission or careless performance of the duties required, and the profaning the day by idleness, or doing that which is in itself sinful, or by unnecessary thoughts, words or works, about our worldly employments or recreations.

Nursery and Toddler Room

As you may have noticed, there have been a lot of changes in our old nursery room! Many thanks go out to Wayne (with Mark's assistance) for the many hours he put into cleaning, painting, and giving the old room a complete facelift!

We have been wanting to provide a clean, quiet room where moms can nurse their babies and even put them down for a nap.

So we have decided to divide the larger room into two smaller rooms: a Nursery on the right (for moms and their babies) and a Toddler Room on the left side (where the toys are).

Nursery Room
Before leaving the Nursery each week, please be sure all diaper trash is emptied into one of the main trash cans.

Toddler Room
Before leaving the Toddler Room each week, please make sure all toys are put away.

Upcoming Events

August 5th - Wednesday, 7:00 p.m. - Prayer Meeting via Zoom. We will read and discuss a passage in Jeremiah, and spend some time in prayer. Contact Pastor Mark or one of the elders if you would like to receive the weekly Zoom link.

August 26th, Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. - Hymn Sing - We will meet at someone’s house on the 26th. Lord willing, we hope to do this every last Wednesday of the month. Please bring a dessert to share.
