Treasure Coast Indivisible Notes

Good morning

Yesterday the Senate began the process of voting on the SAVE Act. The act does not save anything but the hopes of Republicans of not losing the legislative branch of government in the upcoming November election. (And impeaching Trump for the third time). We are told that it will not pass. That even some Republican senators are against it. But the messaging is important. We must be able to explain why it is so bad. Why it is the most voter suppressive bill since the Jim Crow era.

So here is a link to Democracy Docket’s explanation

https://www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/in-major-showdown-over-voting-rights-senate-readies-to-debate-save-america-act/?utm_medium=email&_hsenc=p2ANqtz-_unO-V3GkK8Z2YaLzlZIkHcBIGblSi92odSI5_Eb_QaUvzOrhyi63y3IA2zAhdTigJ2xVPNt_3N5g8UU5RG_AoB9O_0A&_hsmi=409262794&utm_content=409262794&utm_source=hs_email#:~:text=In%20major%20showdown,March%2017%2C%202026

We must continue to call or email Senator Moody and Rep Mast. (202-224-3121). We know how they will vote, so it seems like banging our heads against a wall. But they have to hear how many voters are against it. Remember, Moody was not elected to the Senate.

To end today’s email, here is a statement by Timothy Snyder (those of you who have been receiving these emails from early times know he is my internet crush).

“He took the greatest military force in world history, lost a war to a middle power in a week, begged the world to save him, and demanded that the media lie about this and everything else. I try, but at a simple human level I do not see how anyone can mistake this man's almost supernatural weakness for strength. His weakness is something negative, gravitational, so deep that it can draw in a whole country. But only if we fail to see it. Only if we let it.”

Hope to see you at Mast’s office today @11. There is no shortage of things to protest.

Barbara & Ginger
