I’ve been thinking a lot about Tom Friedman’s piece in the NYT that I shared a link to yesterday. If there is a silver lining to this past year, it is that we have awakened from our stupor of complacency and individualism. We have relearned that our actions matter, how and where we spend our money matters, and how we treat our neighbors matter. We have traded individualism for solidarity. That solidarity is a renewable resource. There are millions of us nationwide waking up to “neighboring” and resisting. So let’s keep it up just a little longer.

Let’s get as many people there as possible. All of us must pledge to bring at least one person who hasn’t attended before.

ACLU will lead a training about best practices for reducing risks when attending protests. If you are anxious about the safety of No Kings, this call is for you.
Make it fun. Have a sign making party. Encourage instruments. The past NO KINGS protests have been peaceful and joyous.

Let them know we are a Hard No on the SAVE Act, the Iran war, and funding ICE. Moody and Mast have problems. Let them know their jobs are at stake. Moody especially has not been elected.

It’s easy to get worn down but that’s not who we are. We don’t have to win all the time but we do need to stay in the game. So thank you for all you are doing. We just need to keep doing it. Hope to see you at Mast’s office tomorrow.
