Treasure Coast Indivisible Notes

Good morning

It’s going to be an interesting week. But here’s what we can do today.

This is from Krista Storey, president of the Democratic Women’s Club of St Lucie County

“Time to raise your voice again!!! (It has been said that the most dangerous time in Florida is the 60 days when the Legislature is in session) Following is information from the Democratic Women's Club of Florida Bill Tracking Committee about three Joint Resolutions/proposed Constitutional Amendments moving through the Florida House of Representatives in reference to doing away with property taxes, a major funding source for counties and cities. (Keep scrolling for additional information).

ASAP please call and/or email our St. Lucie County state representatives  and urge them to oppose these Joint Resolutions.   This is their contact information:

Representative Dana Trabulsy

(850) 717-5084
Email: [email protected]

Representative Toby Overdorf

(850) 717-5085
Email:
[email protected]

Representative John Snyder

772-403-1074

Email: [email protected]

Here's a script to assist you:

“I am calling/writing (pick whichever is appropriate) to urge Representative ___ to oppose joint resolutions 203, 209, and 213. While we agree that public safety is a priority, these proposed constitutional amendments threaten the ability of ___________ (your local community) to decide how to protect our quality of life by utilizing property tax dollars to fund priorities of our residents for things like safe neighborhoods, reliable infrastructure, parks and libraries for our children.” “

Of course you can continue to tell Brain Mast not to support the SAVE Act, which is a voter suppression law. Also tell Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer not to let the Dems cave on ICE funding.

202-224-3121.

We know the drill.

Barbara & Ginger
