Good morning

We had a good meeting last night. Ana Soares from the Hispanic Caucus spoke about their work. Like us, their mission is to get Democrats elected to local and state offices. She encouraged us to find candidates for offices. The Florida Democratic Party would help and train any candidate.

TCI is sponsoring a candidates forum April 9 for those running for FL 21–Mast’s office. We are looking for a place that can hold 200 people somewhere central. Please let me know if you have an idea.

There will be NO KINGS 3 protest on March 28. There will probably be one in St Lucie County and one in Martin County and we will support both. No details yet.

I received an invitation from the Martin County League of Women Voters for 2 programs they are having this month.

On Wednesday, Feb 11 from 2-4 at the Blake Library in Stuart Author Sam Daley Harris will talk about his book Reclaiming Our Democracy: Every Citizen’s Guide to Transformational Advocacy. His talk and Q&A will center around grassroots political mobilization by awakening citizens to their power. The link to register is here

On Monday, February 16, 9-noon at Wolf Hi-Tech Center at IRSC there will be a pop up Democracy Gym with speaker Bliss Brown. We will be guided through group exercises on core practices that make democracy work. The link is here

We are in hard times. It’s difficult to watch or listen or read the news. If we listen to the mainstream media, we have already lost. But then we look to Minneapolis and Portland, Maine and realize that we really do care. As Robert Hubbell says, “there are more of us than there are of them”. If we continue to protest with our signs, and write letters to our members of Congress and do all the little resistance things we are doing, “they” cannot beat us. Their poll numbers are cratering.
