You've Got Mail!

Local Woman Exposed 36 Times on Public Street!

I swear that's the last corny Web 1.0 joke I'll be making.1

Welcome, to AOL!

This will be the first installment of this little Instagram IRL idea I've had for a while. Here's a quick rundown on what to expect going forward:

  1. The only time you'll get an email is as an update [read: warning] about the next photoletter.2
  2. I'm going to work on an opt-in, consent basis. You'll hear about what each season's photoletter will (broadly) be about3. Then, you get to let me know if you'd like to receive it. Maybe you've got enough toilet paper and don't need me sending you more, I don't judge (much).
  3. I'll be sending these in plain old security envelopes via the beautiful, bigly United States Postal Service. The rest of the government will fall, but by god we'll still get mail delivered nationwide at this rate.4

Of course, it'd help if I explained what a photoletter is. It's a newsletter, but with photos. "Isn't it just a zine?" Yes, but I'm a vain woman who wants to be Different. This will be a collection of photo prints with some manner of paper that explains the photos.

FAQ

  • What size will the photos be? Great Question!
  • What size will the photos be?
  • Do I need to pay? No
  • Can I pay? No, this is a communist work of passion
  • Aiya, what size will the photos be? great question!
  • How is it Instagram IRL if I can't like, share, or follow? 1) I'm not stopping you from following me. You'll know where I live. 2) I strongly encourage you to send your responses and reactions via mail back to me. 3) You can share via the USPS the same way I sent it to you plus maybe a Xerox machine; we're bringing back chainmail5 in a very cool way.

Fall '25 Photoletter

36 Exposure Street, Atlanta

Selections from a photowalk I took this past Winter on Peachtree Street. With a single roll of film, I only allowed myself to take photos of what I saw while on Peachtree Street, starting from Mitchell Street in Downtown.

If you're interested in receiving the Fall '25 photoletter (PL_01), please respond to this email with your name and address.

I expect to ship these out before the end of November.

I will delete addresses after I send each photoletter. :)

Wishing you all the very best in the times of monsters, - Aiya

  1. I am a dirty liar. ↩

  2. "Aiya what is a photoletter?" I'm getting there, don't read ahead. ↩

  3. In a surprise to all of you, I am sure, Aiya has jokes and tricks up her sleeves. ↩

  4. The point of the third point is that these may take a few days to arrive once shipped and also, to keep life exciting, may get lost in transit. Just contact me if it never shows or you just want a second one but are shy. Don't ask why this is in the footnote instead of the main point. ↩

  5. Do I mean chainmail or chainmail? Looks like you'll have to check your mail to find out. ↩
