1992 is a newsletter about User Experience in 2020 as seen through the lens of academic papers from 1992. In each issue, I'm going to describe an academic journal article that I think is interesting. I'm going to tell you what I think each paper is about and then I'm going to tell you why it's relevant to UX practitioners in 2020.
I'm your host, Ben Kraal. I'm a Director at a firm that calls it self a customer led innovation consultancy. We do UX and CX and design strategy. I used to be an academic. I taught and researched in design for about ten years. My formal qualifications are in sociology of technology and computer science.
Why not? But also: it's too easy in UX to think that everything is new and that there's nothing to learn from work that's almost 30 years old. 1992 is an argument that there's plenty to learn.
