iter.ca update #1

Welcome to the first issue of the new iter.ca email newsletter!

You probably forgot that you subscribed, because I added the email subscription widget a year ago and then never got around to sending any updates. So here’s a summary of what happened in the last year.

New blog posts

  • There is no 1875 epoch

  • Jailbreaking language models with user roleplay

  • Resolving an email deliverability mystery

  • GPT-3.5 crashes when it thinks about useRalativeImagePath too much

A few of my posts were discussed on Hacker News.

Site updates

  • I added a box to subscribe to this email newsletter to the bottom of posts

  • I added a blurred Voronoi pattern (from my avatar) to the background because it looked cool, but nobody liked that so it's gone now

  • I posted the Blender source file for my avatar

  • I redesigned the homepage - let me know if you have any feedback on the new layout

Other updates

  • I updated Segme to Unicode 15.1.0

  • I redesigned the homepage again

Yours truly,
loops
