iter.ca update #10
Hey there readers of the iter.ca newsletter! It’s time for the tenth update email; we’ve made it into the double digits!!
Travel
SF
I stayed in SF until August 7th; it was a lot of fun being there! I was at Mox a lot, and met a lot of people there. It’s a great city!

Toronto
I was in Toronto for 2 weeks, it was nice being back in my home city! I wasn’t very productive with my research while I was here though; being in the Bay Area seemed to be pretty helpful for productivity.

Montreal
I had a 10 hour layover in Montreal; I had some fun visiting the parks there.

London, England
I arrived in London last Friday; I’m going to be staying in London for a while. I haven't done too much here yet but it's been fun exploring the city!

Research
I finally wrote a post describing some of the results from what I've been working on with NLAs; it's pretty neat!
What’s next?
Research
I'm not sure what I should do next! I'm interested in metamodels (e.g. NLAs, activation oracles); I’ve been thinking about various NLA-like things that might be more useful for interpretability.
I think I might do something like “Thinkhaven” (but a bit less intense) soonish to help me more productive. I haven’t really gotten much done the last few weeks.
Misc
I ended up doing a little bit of security research recently; I’ll write about that soon. Also there are a few blog post ideas I’ve been thinking about for a while that I’ll write down soon.
I hope to start doing enough interesting things that I can send you an update weekly soon! The Londomaxxing will accelerate.
