Minecraft, U-Haul, and The Green Knight
10:38PM
It's a bit of a late newsletter, considering I usually write + send these at around noon. I'm usually sitting at the same place at the same cafe, where I order the same drink as I try to dump whatever contents I have in my brain at that time, but not tonight.
Minecraft
I'm not sure if I've written about this yet, but I've gotten into playing Minecraft with some members of the lab. This week was especially entertaining. I had the bright idea to create an enclosed space for zombies, made out of reflective glass. After a lot, and I mean a lot of trial-and-error, Jon and I finally managed to trap a zombie. His name is Harold.
U-Haul and The Green Knight
Part of the reason I was late today was because I spent most of it helping a member of the lab move. Unfortunately, their apartment was completely flooded by a sprinkler system that went off inadvertently. The move was going pretty well until I managed to lock the keys inside the vehicle (with keys in the ignition, no less).
About an hour an a disappointingly large sum of cash later, we were able to work our way into the van and make a trip to a storage facility. Never trust me with any kind of responsibility related to vehicles.
After that, I went to go catch a movie with a friend. This was my first time back in a theatre in quite a while. I have to say, the experience just feels different now. Maybe I was outside of a theatre for too long, but the loud munching, whispering, and general lack of silence for the film really turned me off. I guess I'm much too used to the experience of watching a film at home (where I make sure it's deathly silent). Then again, the last movie I watched in theatres was Tenet. I probably couldn't tell whether people around me were talking because the sound system was just incredibly loud.
That's it for this week, see you in the next.
