Clothes

Last week, I got a stain on my favourite shirt. Folks in the lab or who spend some amount of time with me probably know the shirt I’m talking about; the black one from a brewery with “Electric Bicycle” written out across the back.

I liked the shirt not just because it’s from one of my favourite breweries, but because of its rather thick cotton blend and how a lot of the inside seams were folded over + stitched. I’m pretty particular/sensitive about how clothes feel on the skin, so finding things that I actually don’t mind wearing/don’t cause me to actually feel every seam when I wear it is a rare event. I don’t know what got on it, but even after washing it a few times, a dark stain still remains. It’s been relegated to at-home wear, now, so I decided to go to Electric Bicycle brewing today to see if I could get the same shirt, and to pick up a pack of sours that I could bring to the lab.

It had been a while since I stepped into the brewery, but the violent neon decor still remained, and seemed even more vibrant in the sunshine. They had a few shirts (including the same shirt I owned), but none were in my size. The folks at the brewery also couldn’t give me a straight answer when I asked where they sourced their shirts from, so I guess I’m without a nice shirt at least until they restock (or I find out where the shirts are from). At least I got a nice pack of raspberry sours that I’m excited to share with people in the lab.

Research

Last week, I basically finished the first draft of one of the final chapters of my thesis, where I describe the implementation of my tool. It feels strange to me that I’m really getting into wrapping up my thesis, but I guess I’ve been working on this non-stop for the past few months. That said, I have what’s probably going to be the most difficult part of my thesis left: the evaluation of my tool. I’ll try to write a bit more about that later, when I have the time and energy.
