reading about Rayet
Thoughtful readers,
I put together a tiny reading from North Continent Ribbon for the Le Guin Foundation. There are two versions, one on YouTube and another on Instagram. (I'm only sporadically on Instagram myself, but if you're there more often, come say hi! I'm yarntheory there as well.)
Even an informal video like this one is an art project. I ended up giving my editor at Neon Hemlock a photo tour of my house, hunting for different spots that might look good in landscape or portrait mode. Here's my filming apparatus:
The top chair is resting on my two-volume set of Onomasticon Turcicum; that's the book that I picked Tashnur's name from, in "Closer Than Your Kidneys".
It has been a summer full of travel. Last week I was in Providence, alternating between immersion in mathematics and moseying along the river:
