new yarn theories

Venturesome readers,

I have a yarn theory story to offer you that isn't mine! Marie Vibbert and I have been friends for more than twenty years. When we met, I had just learned to knit, and hadn't yet figured out how to stop. The linguistically oriented mathematician in Marie's latest Clarkesworld story isn't exactly me--my style is physics and cables, not logic and lace--but the similarities between us are definitely intentional.

If you've been waiting for the podcast version of my reading with Andrea Hairston, it is up now:

Audio from April 9, with Andrea Hairston & Ursula Whitcher – Fantastic Fiction at KGB

The following audio was recorded live at the KGB Bar on April 9th, 2025, with guests Andrea Hairston & Ursula Whitcher. We need your help to stay funded! Support the reading series by clicking here! Andrea Hairston Novelist, Andrea Hairston ran away from the physic

And if you're in DC, remember that I'll be reading as part of the Find Your Story...Writing with Pride event at the MLK, Jr. library on May 31.

Here's Kosmas celebrating spring by claiming my spare jackets:

Yours,

Ursula.
