WoT News #2: A lot to begin with...
Here are news about what happened so far
💻 WEBSITE — Translations of the descriptions are aaaalmost done. Some are in proofreading right now. You can take a look at the prototype, but please acknowledge that only the main page with the cards works. Illustrations are also almost all done. There has been some new illustrators joining in, listed below.

🎉 EVENTS — Previous event was Hangeul lettering workshop with Mingoo Yoon and Min-Young Kim, which was 🔥. And thanks to Dinamo for supporting two free tickets for students!

Next events will be about Greek type design and lettering with the one and only Irene Vlachou.
The lecture will be on November 23, 20€.
The 2-Saturdays workshop will be on November 30 and December 7, 220€. Participants can choose to work on either a lettering piece from Latin, or start with the basics of type design.
We’ve partnered with Glyphs to make a student offer, combining the lecture and the workshop at 100€ instead of 240€! If you are interested, send us an email at info@wordsoftype.com so we can verify your student status, and we’ll send you a code to get the discount!

💝 COMMUNITY & MEMBERSHIP — A community has been created using Circle platform (sort of a mix between Slack, Facebook, and Eventbrite). It will be the place for members to get news before everybody else, discuss about what they think about WoT (improvements, suggestions for future updates, etc.), and meet other peers from everywhere who share the same interest for a multilingual / multicultural typography world.

🍿 CONVERSATIONS — Conversations are: discussions, 5 guests, 1 topic, 1 hour + Q&A, live, online, and free. WoT members get to attend the event via Zoom, from where they can ask questions at the Q&A session.
WoT Conversation Ep.1 went live on September 7, 2024. Topic: Typographic Vocabulary (this topic on its own could have so many sessions!), with David Berlow, Eric Q. Liu, Tânia Raposo, Nick Sherman, and Mariko Takagi.

WoT Conversation Ep.2 will be on December 6, 2024, about Learning and Teaching, with Cara Di Eduardo, Indra Kupferschmid, Jean-Baptiste Levée, Zhiqian Li, and Gen Ramirez. Members can RSVP on the community platform, and non-members can subscribe to our YouTube channel!
