niagara poem

wonder systems

on seeing
the Niagaras
fall

they
were lit in
red, blue
faded white

while
around me waved
bright colors
semiconducted
to saturation

the waters seemed amused
careless as they dashed
passing identity upward

and in a moment of sublime
focus sharpened, all made sense
in diorama:
those waters
these barnacle buildings
we
