a day of chasing sun

wonder systems

sun's heat / felt on skin
through the breeze
feels warm but cools
anything sticking from this
narrow nap blanket
atop dead blades

later / chasing a set
the birds seem idle
before / above waves bent
but unbroken veined
with foam / mass
to whirl in the ebbing surf
as the sun bulges the horizon
/ halos itself

projected / fire's radiance
reaches out to bare skin
after the breeze has died
