[#1] MYTHOSLAIN SITE LAUNCH:
mythoslain.neocities.org is live!
Well ahead of schedule, I decided to launch my site early for the sake of having a place outside of the Tumblr blog I can collect everything Mythoslain on & also to reduce the amount of necessary growing pains to suffer shortly before release. Can’t escape all of it, but at least it’s there!
Some of the site content is incomplete or in different stages of W.I.P., though a lot of it will likely stick around post-launch.
So what made me confident enough to take the plunge & launch the site so early? Well…
I’ve made a LOT of progress. Well ahead of schedule. Laughing in the face of the schedule even. I’ve started learning animation for the [S] pages & have the first [S] page entirely storyboarded out & in a 40% complete state with placeholder assets. Turns out animation is a lot easier & more fun than I expected! I’m beyond excited to learn exactly what my program can do & take it to the next level to execute my vision.
Beyond that - I’ve started writing comic content as well. I realized that outlining wasn’t working as well as I’d hoped for me & I would have to readjust given my character systems approach to narrative development (meaning I essentially construct intricate character profiles & run simulations with them in my head to determine the course of events). With a basic skeleton of major events, I started writing the comic itself page by page & have already hit 25k words! The majority of which was written in a little over 2 days. I’m about ~35% through writing Act 1 (maybe).
Prior to this I also created a “fully functional” calendar/date system for the comic based on the sparse nonsense terminology from the original comic complete with 48 astrological signs. I intend to include a full explanation of how this works on the Mythoslain site soon. But here’s some previews:
I’ve also started designing lands, designed nearly all the hives, designed a number of logos for Alternian websites/apps (some original, others parodies), & made handwriting fonts for the core cast.
Expect more to be released soon - though I will be resting some as I have been pushing myself a lot lately to the point of physical consequences. Oops!
