CrossFit HQ has massive layoffs
CrossFit has gone through several corporate shifts in recent memory. From the pandemic purge to ousting of the founder, to now its second CEO in as many years, the internal structure of the entity seems to be in flux again.
New CEO Don Faul didn’t release a full count of the employees laid off from the LLC, but did not say that it’s roughly 20% of the workforce at HQ. This is striking any time of year, but especially weeks before the Nobull CrossFit Games Semifinals are set to occur.
“In assessing our organization and cost structure while considering the current economic environment, it became clear that we needed to make some changes. While this was an incredibly hard decision, these reductions will help us create a more sustainable business model, ensure that we’re prepared for economic uncertainty, and position us to make some big bets against our most important priorities.”
The Morning Chalkup broke this news and will continue to evaluate. We’ll also keep note of any well-known names within the CrossFit team who are among those relieved of their duties. Any shift in corporate structure often results in a turnover, but Faul taking over recently makes this seem like a reorganization of possibly what his vision of the CrossFit future should look like.
