OMTech's AF4063-150 Laser Cutter Costs 3,667 Feet of Hired Cutting

Pololu publishes what its laser costs by the inch: $0.15 to cut 3 mm acrylic, on top of a $25 minimum per order.

OMTech sells a 150-watt CO2 cutter with a 40-by-63-inch bed for $6,599.99.

That is 44,000 inches of somebody else's laser — 3,667 feet of cut line, or 264 order minimums. Both counts are ceilings: $0.15 an inch is where Pololu starts.
