Updates from SAD City!

Hey y’all!

This time of year is when I start to get into hibernation mode and I’m trying to listen to my body while also taking care of myself so that Seasonal Affective Disorder doesn’t knock me on my ass too hard.

Luckily zine stuff is like a needed shot of dopamine for me and there are some fun things I can share with y’all about what I’m up to and I hope it will inspire me to be more active in this gloomy months. I’ll keep it quick.

I Started A Podcast!

Yes! It’s called Rough Draft and it’s with Chicago zine goddess Liz Mason (Caboose Zine) We’ve done three episodes so far and we spend a lot of time talking about zines, creative process and pop culture ephemera. The episodes keep getting longer but we are gonna try to keep them under 20 minutes.

Wild Ramp Zine Microgrants

Wild Ramp Publishing gave out a new round of Disability Justice Microgrant Recipients for Fall!

  • Crucial Comix: Chronic Illness Comics Club Zine

  • Fi Stewart-Taylor, Cara Wieland &  Nicole Green: Doing Access Anyway

  • The FOIA Bakery: Chicago Public Schools Students with Disabilities Zine (Title TBD)

I’ll share more about how you can get these zines later! In the meantime, if you’d like to support a Spring Round of microgrants you can make a tax-deductible donation to Wild Ramp through our fiscal sponsor Independent Arts and Media.

New Zines!

Here’s new stuff for sale at the shop!

  • Fandom Mini-Zine Bundle

Two mini-zines that look at fandom in a critical way: "In Defense of Casual Fandom" is a short manifesto about why it's ok to not be obsessed with something while still enjoying it. "A Zine About Musical Microaggressions" is a short anecdote about a bad experience Keidra had at a record fair.

  • "It's Pronounced Zeen" sticker

For every zinester tired of explaining it—this sticker does the work for you. It’s pronounced "zeen", now and forever.

Wild Ramp in Cali!

I won’t be there but Act Your Age 1 and Act Your Age 2 will be for sale at The Biggest Little Zine Fair Holiday Fair on Sunday, November 16th at Recreational Coffee, Long Beach, CA. Tell your friends in the area!

That’s all for me this month!

xoxo

Keidra
